GrabLucky is a Telegram bot that uses the concept of Hong Baos (Lucky Packets) based on Chinese tradition. With GrabLucky, you can now send and receive digital currencies such as Bitcoin to family and friends as gifts.

Hong Baos (or sometimes spelled Ang Baos) are gifts presented at social and family gatherings such as weddings or festive holidays such as Chinese New Year. The packets are colored red to symbolize good luck and is a symbol to ward off evil spirits.

When it comes to Hong Bao giving, it is a socially accepted norm in Chinese culture that married adults are expected to give out Hong Baos to their unmarried relatives of the younger generation. This gesture serves as an act of giving blessings and well wishes to the younger generation so that they may have an auspicious start to the new year.

While Hong Baos are meant to be given as tokens of good wishes, there are actually a lot of intricacies involved in the ritual. The amount of money contained in Hong Baos usually ends with an even digit.

Similar customs exist in other Asian countries too. In Cambodia, red envelopes are called Ang Pav or Tae Ea (give Ang Pav). Ang Pav is delivered with best wishes from elders to younger generations.

In Vietnam, red envelopes are considered to be lucky money and are typically given to children.

In South Korea and Japan, a monetary gift is given to children by their relatives during the New Year period.

Malay Muslims in Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and Singapore have adopted the Chinese custom of handing out monetary gifts in envelopes as part of their Eid celebrations, but instead of red packets, green envelopes are used.

GrabLucky uses cryptocurrencies to send and receive Hong Bao. As cryptocurrency prices fluctuate, this may cause some variation to the fiat currencies (USD, EUR, SGD) reflected on the system. Please login to your LinqCash account to check.

For now, you need a LinqCash wallet to redeem your HongBao. You have 24 hours to create your LinqCash wallet account and redeem the amount you have Grabbed. Else, the Hong Bao will be returned to the Issuer.

Most cryptocurrency is divisible. Take Bitcoins for example. One Bitcoin (BTC) is made up of 100,000,000 Satoshi. When you Grab 10 Satoshi, the equivalent value is far less than $0.01 in USD. As fiat currencies could not accurately reflect values under $0.01, you will see $0.00 upon grabbing.

HongBao will be refunded to the issuer when these 2 conditions are met:

1) HongBao packets that were Grabbed but not Redeemed and sent to a LinqCash wallet will be sent back to the issuer after 24 hours

2) Balance HongBao packets that are not Grabbed will be sent back to the Issuer 25 hours after GrabLucky event creation

A Grab Chance is the ability to grab an HongBao and win yourself real cryptocurrency (in the form of Bitcoin, BitCash or Litecoin).

(1x) Grab Chance will be used when you successfully Grabbed an HongBao.

No Grab Chance will be deducted if you did not successfully Grab an HongBao.
